Object-making, particularly in Jingdezhen, is deeply rooted in traditional porcelain craftsmanship and aesthetic values such as harmony, the interplay between solid and void, calligraphy, and the relationship with nature.

Design is a culture, a discipline and a working method whose primary aim is to combine the pursuit of everyday usefulness with a parallel search for emotion, symbolism and humanism. These qualities should inhabit and bring to life the objects that shape our surroundings, creating an environment worthy of us and allowing these objects to reach beauty.

We are exploring a central question in design culture: how can we engage with heritage today and help it evolve towards reproducible production, wider accessibility and international visibility, while respecting the richness of its history? This approach to design also has social and economic benefits, contributing to the transmission and preservation of endangered skills in the arts and crafts.
